
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior forward/center Ross Davidson of the University of Dallas has earned SCAC Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts on the court this past weekend.

ROSS DAVIDSON
OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior
forward/center from Dana Point, Calif., has been selected the SCAC
Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from
Monday, January 13th through Sunday, January 19th.
Davidson averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and
2.0 blocks while leading the Crusaders to a 1-1 record on the
road.
Davidson scored a game high 30 points on 11-of-20
shooting including 3-of-6 from behind the arch and 5-of-6 from the
free throw line to lead the Crusaders to a 67-57 win over Texas
Lutheran.
The following night against Schreiner, Davidson
scored 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting and 3-of-3 from teh free throw
line to go with nine rebound and three blocks in a 72-62
loss.
Davidson shot 17-of-34 from the field (50%),
4-of-8 from behind the arch, and 8-of-9 at the charity stripe. It
is his second 30 point performance as he scored 34 on December 5th
against Arlington Baptist. Davidson’s two 30 point games
ranks as second and third in individual scoring in a game this
season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman forward Austin
Freet of Austin College averaged a double-double in two
games for Austin College, posting averages of 12.0 points and 10.0
rebounds while shooting 66.7% from the field, 60% from three point
range, and 71.4% from the free throw line. Freshman forward Kendall Demouchet of
Centenary totaled 22 points and 15 rebounds for the weekend.
Freshman forward Mitch
Carter of Colorado College averaged 15.5 points, 7.0
rebounds and 2.0 steals to help Colorado College earn a split on
the road, making 12 of 15 (.800) field-goal attempts. Freshman guard Maverick Harris of
Schreiner had 12 points and 4 rebounds in the victory over
#25 Colorado College and averaged 11 points/game for the weekend.
Junior guard Adrian
Johnson of Southwestern was a spark off the bench for the
Pirates, averaging 11 points per game this week and shot 77% from
the floor and was perfect from three point range (3-3) and the free
throw line (5-5). Freshman guard Garrett Wilkins of
Texas Lutheran averaged 14.5 points and five assists per
game over the weekend in a pair of tight home losses for the
Bulldogs. Sophomore guard
Jimmy Clark of Trinity averaged 11.5 points/game in the two
wins, hitting 7-13 (53.8%) from the field and 8-10 (80%) from the
foul line and also added three rebounds, three assists, and two
steals.
