SUWANEE, Ga. - The SCAC office today
released the championship bracket for the conference field hockey
tournament, which will be played Saturday-Sunday, November 5-6 in
Memphis, Tenn., on the campus of Rhodes College. Complete Bracket
Rhodes College (5-1 SCAC; 9-6 overall), the two-time defending
champion, is the tournament's top seed and will take on the
fourth-seed, Sewanee-The University of the South (1-5; 5-9), in
Saturday's first semifinal match.
Second-seed Hendrix College (3-3; 10-4) and third-seed Centre
College (3-3; 10-7) will tangle in the other semfinal showdown. The
two split their matches during the regular season with the Warriors
earning the higher seed due to a better goal differential in those
matches.
Rhodes has been the top seed in six of the previous seven SCAC
field hockey postseason tournaments and earned championships in
four of those events (2004, 2006, 2009 and 2010).
