Austin College's Balderas Earns National Recognition On D3Football Team of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. -- Austin College junior placekicker Caleb Balderas was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week for week four of the 2024 season.

Balderas had an outstanding game, drilling all three of his field goal attempts with each coming from more than 40 yards out, in a 34-9 loss to McMurry. Balderas, who accounted for all of Austin College’s points, hit from 43, 44, and a career-best 49 yards, and also had a pair of touchbacks while putting all four of his kickoffs into the endzone. His 49-yard field goal is tied for the ninth longest field goal in SCAC history.

Earlier this week, Balderas was also named SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Team of the Week is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 26th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.

Balderas is the fifth different SCAC athlete to earn D3Football.com National Team of the Week honor. Last week, Centenary’s D’Qavion Lemons and McMurry’s Jax Rodriguez garnered honors, while Centenary’s Jacob Wilson and Texas Lutheran’s Tristan Smith landed on the inaugural team of the week back in week one.
