
WACO, Texas - After improving to 7-1
overall with a 34-27 conference win Saturday over Trinity (Texas),
the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs returned to the American Football
Coaches Association Division III Top 25.
In the AFCA Coaches' Poll, the Bulldogs are No. 22 with 138 voting
points. Before falling to No. 2-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor on
Oct. 25, TLU was up to 17th in the Oct. 13 and Oct.
20 AFCA polls. The Bulldogs were one spot out of the AFCA Top
25 last week. TLU essentially moved up four spots this week in the
AFCA poll.
In the D3football.com poll, the Bulldogs received 13 voting
points, the fifth most in the poll. TLU garnered seven more
voting points this week in the D3football.com Top 25 voting.
Texas Lutheran is 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference with the win over Trinity. The Bulldogs have won 16 of
its last 18 football games, dating back to the end of the 2012
season.
Texas Lutheran hits the road this Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff
with Austin College (5-3, 1-0 SCAC). The Bulldogs and Kangaroos
meet at Austin College's Apple Stadium in Sherman, Texas. The
winner of Saturday's game in Sherman will claim at least a share of
the SCAC title.
