
LEESBURG, Va. - Texas Lutheran's Lewis
Williams II has been named Division III Offensive
Player-of-the-Week by Beyond Sports Network for his efforts in
Saturday's 41-16 victory over Sul Ross State.
Also the SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week this past
week, Williams is the third TLU football player to be named to
the elite squad this season and it is the fourth award in total for
the Bulldogs. Fellow wideout Cameron Peavy has been a two-time
selection to the BSN National Player-of-the-Week honor roll.
Williams, a 5-10, 170-pound wide receiver from Houston, enjoyed a
career day in the Bulldogs' road win over Sul Ross State. He set
career-highs for receiving TDs (3), receiving yards (184) and total
receptions (11) in the TLU win.
Williams scored on Brent Peavy touchdown passes of seven, 50,
and 31 yards. He also returned three kickoffs for 71 yards and had
a long return of 33.
Williams and the Bulldogs are 5-0 overall heading into Saturday's
road game with Mississippi College (3-3, 3-0 ASC). TLU, the SCAC
champions after a 3-0 run through its new league, played in the
American Southwest Conference with Mississippi College from 1998 to
2012.
MC sits atop the ASC standings entering the non-conference tilt
with the Bulldogs.
Saturday's game in Clinton, Miss. is set for a 3 p.m. kickoff from
MC's Robinson-Hale Stadium. TLU will have a live video webcast from

broadcast and an audio-only webcast from seguintoday.com. Pre-game
