NEW YORK, N.Y. - USA Football Network has bestowed its ultimate honor on former SCAC and Millsaps College student-athlete Sean Brewer by naming its annual Outstanding Division III Defensive Lineman award after the three-time All-American.
Brewer, inducted into the Millsaps College Sports Hall of Fame in 2004, was a four-year starter in football (1989-1992) for the Majors and is the only Divsion III defensive lineman who has been a three time AFCA All-America First Team (1990-1992) selection. Brewer was also a two time Champion USA All-America First Team (1991 and 1992) honoree as well as the SCAC's Defensive Player-of-the-Year those same two seasons.
During his four seasons in Jackson, Brewer registered 332 career solo tackles and racked up 53 career quarterback sacks while posting a single season high of 99 solo hits and a season-best of 15 quarterback sacks.
