Austin College had the week off. The Kangaroos return to action when they host Centre College for Homecoming on October 27.
Trinity suffered its third loss in the last
five tries against Centre College on Saturday, falling by the final
score of 31-14 on the road. The loss also snaps a two-game winning
streak for Trinity, and drops the team to 2-2 away from home in
2012. The Tigers were plagued by four interceptions in the game,
despite racking up more than 300 yards of offense. Trinity’s
14 points were a season-low, breaking a streak of six straight
games with 28 or more points. Trinity will host Millsaps next
weekend, kicking off at 1:30 p.m. The game will be played on the
five-year anniversary of the Trinity Miracle Play, which was a
stunning 15-lateral end to the game that garnered national
attention. The play was a YouTube sensation, was featured on
SportsCenter that night, and was nominated for an ESPY Award.
Trinity was also awarded the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of
the Year in 2007. Millsaps leads the series with Trinity with a
19-16 record overall, dating back to 1974. Trinity’s 10-3 win
last season broke a three-game losing streak to the Majors.
