Jackson Teer, Trinity University, Pitcher of the Week (Week 11)

JACKSON TEER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right-hander from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 15 through Sunday, April 21. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 11

Teer led the 12th-ranked Trinity Tigers to a 3-1 record last weekend, including an SCAC series win over Dallas to stay atop the league standings going into the final week of the regular season. Teer tossed a five-hit shutout in his only appearance last week, striking out eight batters in 7.0 innings of work. His victory came in game one of Sunday's doubleheader and set the tone for a doubleheader sweep that secured the series for the Tigers.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Sophomore pitcher Andrew Hardin of Southwestern came in relief in the final game of a three-game series sweep to collect the win last Friday. Hardin tossed 4.2 scoreless innings with an impressive nine strikeouts to allow the Pirates to come from behind and win in extra innings. Hardin scattered just three hits and walked just two in getting the win.  Senior pitcher Johnny Garza Jr. of Texas Lutheran orchestrated hist first career complete game to help the Bulldogs take a key SCAC series win over Centenary last week. In Saturday’s rubber match, Garza Jr., got the win scattering just seven hits in nine innings of work, while allowing just two runs and striking out six.
