GERARDO CARDOZA OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior catcher from Mission, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, February 20 through Sunday, February 26. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 3
Cardoza was impressive at the plate last weekend, leading the Mountaineers to a four-game sweep over Dallas Christian. Cardoza batted an outstanding .875, going 12-for-14 with five RBI, five runs scored, two doubles and a triple. Cardoza racked up a hit in each game and finished with a .875 on-base percentage.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior infielder Landon Durdin of Southwestern was all business at the plate in the Pirates three game series versus Rhodes, batting .556 (5-for-9) with one double, two RBI and four runs scored. Senior utility Ezra Gore of Trinity went 6-for-10 at the plate in the Tigers three games against Babson, batting .600 with two RBI, two doubles, and five runs scored.
