
Michael Goodrich of Trinity University, a junior catcher from Gilbert, Ariz., has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, February 18 through Sunday, February 24.
Goodrich led the fourth-ranked Tiger baseball team to a 2-1 record in a home weekend series against Endicott College. Goodrich had two hits in each game, batting 6-10 (.600) with four runs and five RBI overall, and pushing Trinity’s offense to an average of 9.0 runs/game over the series. He began with a 2-for-3 performance that included a home run and three RBI in an 8-1 series-opening win. Goodrich followed that by going 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, as well as reaching base three more times via walk as Trinity clinched the series with another win.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Dallas senior outfielder Jordan Stickler led the Crusaders to a 2-1 record last week tallying six hits, four RBI and five stolen bases while posting a .545 batting average. Junior Tyler Cauley of Texas Lutheran hit .500 last week against UT-Dallas, adding four hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Southwestern junior infielder Daniel Mongomery Jr. hit for the cycle over a two-game stretch for the Pirates series in their weekend series with McMurry.
