Josh Abalos of the University of Dallas, a senior middle infielder from Lewisvilles, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 22 through Sunday, April 28.
Abalos concluded his career at Dallas on a high-note, leading the Crusdaers to a 2-1 series win over Schreiner while batting .500, tallying six runs, five RBI and seven stolen bases. On Sunday, Abalos was red-hot, going 3-for-4 at the plate while driving in three runs and stealing six bases.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Freshman Joe Jimenez of Texas Lutheran averaged .476 at the plate (10-for-21) with four runs scores, three RBI and two stolen bases in a 2-2 week for the Bulldogs. Southwestern senior infielder Cole Kelly notched four extra base hits and posting a 1.000 slugging percentage or better in two of the Pirates’ four games.
