Josh Abalos, University of Dallas, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 2)

JOSH ABALOS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior short stop from Lewisville, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday February 11th. 

Abalos recorded at least a hit, a run, a RBI and a walk in each of three games this past weekend as the Crusaders won the series against Mississippi University for Women.

Abalos totaled six hits, five runs, five RBI, three walks, and one stolen base, while posting a .667 batting average.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Seth Sparks of Southwestern University recorded seven hits in 11 at bats last week, including a pair of doubles. Junior infielder Thomas Varner of Texas Lutheran University hit .467 last week as he led the Bulldogs to three wins, scoring five runs and bringing in two RBI. Junior catcher/infielder John Tucker of Trinity University went 3-6 with two runs scored as #21 Trinity opened the season with two wins at Houston-Victoria.
