
HOLDEN NOVAK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior right-handed pitcher from Coppell, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, February 1st through Sunday February 7th.
Novak spun a complete-game gem on Friday night, as the Gents beat Louisiana College, 6-1. He allowed only one walk and an unearned run, keeping the Wildcats hitless until the fifth. He also registered 10 strikeouts in the 7 innings of work.He recorded a strikeout in 6-of-7 innings, including two in four frames.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior right-handed pitcher Ryan Hammonds of Dallas made two starts for the Crusaders. He was awarded a win in a 6-5 victory for opening day at Sul Ross State Univ. a week ago. Hammonds followed with a no decision in a 2-1 loss at No. 22 UT-Tyler this past Saturday. He limited the top-25 squad to a run on two hits through six innings.
