
ANDREW ALIG OF
TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year right-hander from
Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 18 through
Sunday, March 24.
Alig tossed a complete-game two-hitter to open a
Saturday doubleheader against Rockford, giving up just one run in
his only appearance last week.
Alig struck out 13 batters in his complete-game victory, improving to 2-1 on the season with the win. He allowed two hits and just one run in nine innings of work, pitching the Tigers to a 5-1 win.
For the season, Alig is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his 27 innings pitched, giving up nine earned runs and 20 hits to hold opponents to a .217 batting average. Alig has struck out 32 batters and issued just eight walks in his six appearances.
