KEVIN FRANCKE
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior infielder from
Yorba Linda, Calif., has been named the SCAC Offensive Baseball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, February 11 through
Sunday, February 17.
Francke posted a monster week offensively,
leading the Tigers to three victories to open up the team’s
home schedule.
Francke hit .818 (9-11) for the week, picking up
four doubles and a home run in the three games. He also led the
team with seven runs scored, seven RBI, and a slugging percentage
of 1.455 (16 total bases). He raised his season batting average
.350 points over the past week.
In Tuesday’s home opener against Schreiner,
Francke went 3-4 with three runs and three RBI,
crushing his first home run of the season. On Saturday, he made the
most of a doubleheader by picking up three hits in each game
– including a pair of doubles in both. He also scored
two runs in both games, and added four RBI to his week’s
total.
