LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Six of the seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball programs took the diamond last week in non-conference action. 

No. 4 Trinity (11-3) completed a three-game series sweep over Rochester. The Tiger offense was led by senior Dalys Binder who averaged .700 at the plate (7-for-10) including five runs scored, five RBI and three extra-base hits. Junior Rafe Chaumette contributed with six hits and four RBI and classmate Mason Meredith added six RBI on five hits while slugging .643. On the mound, junior right-hander Mark Tindall tossed a complete game, striking out seven in the Tigers' opening 9-2 victory.

No. 9 Texas Lutheran (10-4) also swept its three-game series with Millikin over the weekend. Junior Nick Gardoni drove in six runs with four hits for the Bulldogs and senior Trey Albaugh produced four RBI with three hits. Senior Nathan Malinovsky was outstanding through six innings of work for TLU, giving up no earned runs and striking out 10 in the series opener. 

Southwestern (8-2) won all four of its games last week, overcoming Texas-Dallas through extra innings on Tuesday then sweeping Mary Hardin-Baylor in its three-game series over the weekend. Junior Daniel Montgomery Jr. tallied 11 RBI during the stretch, going 10-for-16 at the plate with three home runs and slugging 1.500. The Pirates also saw contributions from freshman Chase Thinger who went 6-for-12 at the plate adding four runs and four RBI and senior Cole Kelly who chipped in with five hits, four RBI and two runs. In the series opener against UMHB, junior Colton Hunter had a career-best performance with 15 strikeouts, tied for seventh-most in a single game in SCAC history, while allowing one earned run in a complete game effort. 

Schreiner (5-11) picked up a pair of victories over Blackburn over the weekend. The Mountaineers were paced by senior Austin Contreras who went 4-for-7 at the plate with three RBI and two stolen bases. Freshmen Chace Goins and Sam Velazquez both batted .500 with Goins scoring two runs on three hits. Junior Josh Gilliam contributed on both sides of the ball, collecting two hits and two RBI while earning saves in both contests. In the second game of the series, Caleb Allen earned the decision, putting away five batters through six innings of work.

In a busy week for Centenary (8-10-1), the Gents went 2-2-1 with wins over Whittier and Redlands. Sophomore Chris Haggard led the Gents on offense, going 8-for-17 at the plate with five RBI and a stolen base. In the first game against Redlands, sophomore Connor Cudd picked up his first win of the season, striking out four while allowing no earned runs through 3.2 innings.  

Austin College (3-6) was also in action last week, splitting its series with Calumet College and dropping a decision to Dallas Christian.

SCAC conference play opens up this weekend when Southwestern heads to Schreiner, Dallas plays host to Trinity, and Centenary travels to Austin College.
