LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Six of the Seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball squads hit the diamond in a busy week of non-conference action. 

No. 3 Trinity (8-3) went 2-1 in its series against 18th-ranked Babson over the weekend, defeating the Beavers 6-1 on Friday and 9-4 on Sunday. Junior Mason Meredith averaged .417 at the plate for the Tigers, with five hits, two runs and two RBI. Classmate Michael Goodrich and senior Jake Martin chipped in as well with Goodrich collecting four hits, including a home run, two RBI and a .400 batting average, while Martin tallied four RBI and four runs. On Sunday, senior Ian Hussian picked up the win notching a week-best nine strikeouts in the effort. 

Over the weekend, Dallas (10-4) swept its series with Dallas Christian, scoring 21 runs over the course of three contests. At the plate, senior Jordan Stickler led the way with a .556 batting average scoring four runs scored and driving in three RBI. Classmate Mark Peterson posted a .909 slugging percentage and junior Nathan Patton added five RBI. On the mound, junior Conrad Voss was stellar, holding his opponents to a .059 batting average while collecting five strikeouts through six innings of shutout work in the Crusaders 8-1 victory on Friday.

Austin College (2-4) picked up its first victories of the season, splitting series with Dallas Christian and Arlington Baptist. The Roos' were led by senior Brett Taff who posted a week-leading .582 batting average, going 7-for-12, scoring four runs and adding three RBI. Freshman Jake Webster also contributed with six hits, three runs scored and a .462 batting average. Against the win over Arlington Baptist on Friday, sophomore Ryan Culp earned his second win of the season striking out four and allowed no runs through four perfect innings of relief.

Centenary (6-8) swept its double-header against Occidental on Sunday. Gents sophomore Chris Haggard batted .500 at the plate going 4-for-8 at the plate, while Preston Ludwig slugged .714 with two hits, including a home run. Freshman Will Kaper earned the first save of his career in the opening 8-4 win, limiting opponents to a .143 batting average and striking out three in four innings of relief work. 

Schreiner (3-11) dropped two of three last weekend in its series with LeTourneau. In the Mountaineers win, freshman Dylan Blevins earned his first career victory in the series opening win on Friday, throwing 2.2 innings of relief while collecting three strikeouts. Senior Austin Contreras led the way at the plate with three RBI.

The SCAC baseball schedule continues Monday as Centenary takes on Whitter at 2:30 pm PST.
