Texas Lutheran's Cauley Selected to Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
 The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) released the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Team Thursday and Tyler Cauley of Texas Lutheran University was the sole Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree. 

Cauley, a 2018 playing All-American and a 2019 First All-SCAC selection, is a junior accounting major with a 3.60 grade point average.

In leading Texas Lutheran to the SCAC regular-season co-championship and to a runner-up finish at the conference tournament, Cauley has a batting average of .336 with team highs in runs (45), doubles (10), triples (4), RBI (46), total bases (90), slugging percentage (.592) and on-base percentage (.478). He also leads the team in stolen bases (15-for-15).

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in June.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors with grade point averages of at least 3.30 are eligible for nomination. The teams are selected by a vote of sports information directors within each district. District 8 includes NCAA Division III colleges and universities from Iowa west to California and from Texas north to Canada.

TLU baseball holds an overall record of 31-12. The Bulldogs are third in the most recent NCAA DIII West Region rankings. TLU learns its NCAA post-season fate at 11 a.m. Monday when the NCAA tournament field is released.
