LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Just days after helping the Gents clinch their second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title, Centenary College's Chris Zapata was named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.
Zapata had himself quite the week in Centenary's sweep of Southwestern, batting .769 (10-for-13) with three runs and seven RBIs. With six extra-base hits (four doubles, two home runs) he finished with a 1.538 slugging percentage.
He also threw out two of three runners attempting to steal as part of his flawless defense.
This was Zapata's second time this season to earn a spot on the Team of the Week. His previous honor was on March 7th.
Zapata and the Gents closed out their conference schedule over the weekend, and will continue the season as the top seed at the 2017 SCAC Baseball Championship in Grand Prairie, Texas.
