Trinity's Waters Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior outfielder Andrew Waters of No. 4 Trinity University has been named to this week's D3baseball.com Team of the Week. 

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its fifth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors and/or conference offices. This is the third Team of the Week of the 2016 season.

Waters, also tabbed SCAC Offensive Player of the Weekled Trinity to a 4-0 overall week that finished with a three-game sweep of Austin on Friday and Saturday. Waters hit a blistering .833 (10-for-12) in the three games against Austin, collecting four doubles, two triples, and two home runs among his 10 hits. He also scored six runs and added eight RBI, posting a 2.000 slugging percentage for the weekend.

Waters is batting .750 (12-16) with 12 RBI and eight runs this season. Despite playing in just five of the team's 11 games, he leads the team in home runs, and is tied for the lead with two triples. He is also second on the squad with four doubles, and is also No. 2 in RBI.

Waters helped Trinity to a 9-2 start including a 1-1 record against other nationally ranked opponents. The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday against Conordia (TX) before a weekend series at Texas Lutheran University.
