Aleman's Shutout Earns a Spot on D3baseball.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior pitcher Aaron Aleman of Texas Luthearn University was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week following an excellent performance in the series opener against 13th-ranked Trinity University.

Aleman dominated on the mound against Trinity this past weekend en rout to a series win over the 13th-ranked Trinity Tigers at home.

Aleman was on top of his game against No. 13-ranked Trinity, tossing a complete-game, four-hit shutout. His effort helped lead the Bulldogs to a 6-0 win in the series opener. Eventually the Bulldogs took two-out-of-three in the series.

The senior quieted the Trinity bats all game, not allowing a Tiger baserunner past second base. It was the first time Trinity has been shut out in an SCAC contest since March 26th, 2011, a 5-0 shutout to Hendrix College

Aleman struck out five in the nine innings, lowering his ERA to 1.76 on the year, good for third in the conference. It was the second complete game of the season for Aleman. Earlier he tossed another four-hit complete game against Louisiana College, giving up just one run.

Alemen becomes the fourth SCAC player to earn Team of the Week honors. Teammate Justin Law, Trinity's Mike Walker, and Dallas' Luciano Villanueva all earned spots on the team earlier in the season.
