
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sophomore third baseman Keaton Bohmann of Texas Lutheran University and junior pitcher Zack Speer of Trinity University have been named SCAC Baseball Players of the Week for their outstanding performances last weekend.

Games of February 24th – March 2nd
KEATON
BOHRMANN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore
third baseman from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Baseball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from
Saturday, February 24th through Sunday, March 2nd.
Bohrmann drove in a run in each game of
three-game series with Schreiner in Kerrville to lead the Bulldogs
to a 2-1 series victory.
Bohrmann drove in a total of five runs and
collected six hits in 12 at-bats (.500). He belted a two-run homer
in the series opener, and he went 4-for-4 with a run scored and a
stolen base in the series-ending victory.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior infielder Josh
Coughennower of Austin College batted .400 in a three game
series for Austin College, driving in a run with four hits in 10
plate appearances. Sophomore infielder Colton Shea of
Southwestern had an impressive weekend at the plate for
Southwestern hitting at a .556 clip. Shea and the Pirates finished
1-2 as the shortstop went 5-for-9 with two runs scored and three
RBIs with five total bases. Sophomore catcher/first baseman Drew
Butler of Trinity hit .571 (4-7) for the week, starting two
of the three games. He had two runs and four RBI over the
weekend, picking up a double and a home run. Butler posted a
.667 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging percentage. Centenary, Dallas, and Schreiner did not nominate
anyone.

PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK

ZACK SPEER OF
TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior right handed pitcher
from Bellaire, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Saturday, February
24th through Sunday, March 2nd.
Speer threw six shutout innings in game one of
Saturday’s doubleheader, leading the Tigers to a weekend
sweep against Centenary.
Speer gave up just three hits and struck out
seven batters in the game, pitching Trinity to a 10-0 shutout
victory in his only appearance of the weekend.
For the season, Speer is 4-0 with an ERA of 0.74
in four games, allowing just two runs in 24.2 innings of work, and
striking out 18 batters. Opponents are hitting just .220
against him this season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Josh
Lewis of Austin College had an outstanding performance in a
loss for Austin College, throwing 7.0 strong innings and allowing
three runs, only one earned, with just one walk against a strikeout
versus Dallas Christian. Freshman pitcher Evan Eubanks of
Dallas pitched 6.0 innings while only no runs on four hits
and struck out two in a victory over Southwestern. Freshman pitcher Brett Marcom of
Southwestern pitched six innings and scattered six hits
while just one of the two runs was charged to the right-hander. He
also struck out five and only walked one in the non-conference win.
Senior pitcher Kellen
McGriff of Texas Lutheran tossed a complete-game, seven-hit
shutout in the series-ending 6-0 win over Schreiner. Centenary and Schreiner did not nominate
anyone.
