Dallas' Keele; TLU's Snider Earn SCAC Baseball Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Junior infielder Trevor Keele of the University of Dallas and senior pitcher Dwayne Snider of Texas Lutheran University have been named SCAC Baseball Players of the Week after their outstanding performances this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

SCAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  March 24th – March 30th

TREVOR KEELE OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior infielder/pitcher from Edgewood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24th through Sunday, March 30th.

Keele led Dallas to a 3-1 overall record last week, including a series sweep over Austin College this past weekend.

Keele hit .600 (9-for-15) for the week, including two doubles, a triple, and seven RBIs to lead the Crusaders.

Keele started the week 3-for-7 in the non-conference game against Arlington Baptist and the first game against Ausitn College and then blew up the final two games, going 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs on Saturday followed by a 2-for-4, five RBI day to complete the sweep.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior utility/designated hitter Dylan Day of Austin College had an outstanding weekend at the plate for Austin College, batting .556 with a double and two RBI, while also scoring four runs. Junior outfielder Christian Sebastian of Centenary posted a .462 batting average for the week collecting multiple hit efforts against LSU-Shreveport and two of the three games at Schreiner. Senior infielder/outfielder Kelly Rundzieher of Schreiner was 7-for-13 from the plate including a RBI to lead the Mountaineers this past weekend. Senior first baseman Zach Lynch of Southwestern hit .375 on the week helping the Pirates take their first series win since April 7, 2012. Lynch posted a .444 on base percentage with six total bases as he now has 11 multiple hit games this season and a six game hitting streak. Sophomore infielder Keaton Bohrmann of Texas Lutheran went 7-for-14 (.500) in the three-game road series with Southwestern. Bohrmann doubled twice, had an RBI and scored a run. Trinity did not nominate anyone.

 

SCAC PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  March 24th – March 30th

DWAYNE SNIDER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right handed pitcher from New Caney, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24th through Sunday, March 30th.

Snider led the Bulldogs to their lone win of the weekend in dominating fashion, defeating Southwestern to stay steady at third in the SCAC.

Snider tossed a five-hit shutout in the Bulldogs' 2-0 road win Saturday over Southwestern. He struck out eight and walked just one.

Snider leads the SCAC with a 1.27 ERA and is fifth in the SCAC with 35 strikeouts. He is now 4-1 on the season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Holder Novak of Centenary tossed 7.0 innings en route to his third win of the season. The affair was the second longest this week. The sophomore fanned six in the contest – tying a career-high while allowing two runs on four hits en route to the 10-3 victory. Senior pitcher Ethan Catalani of Schreiner pitched in Relief, giving up only 3 hits, no earned runs, 6 strike outs while recording a win on Saturday. Austin College, Dallas, Soutwestern, and Trinity did not nominate anyone.
