Trinity's Muscarello Earns All-Tournament Honors for Regionals

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Trinity University baseball senior Christian Muscarello has been named to the All-Tournament Team for the McMinnville Regional, as announced this afternoon by host and regional champion Linfield College.

The Tigers competed in the NCAA Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, losing both of its games at the regional tournament in McMinnville. Trinity lost 3-2 against University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and 4-1 to defending NCAA Division III Champion Linfield. Those teams wound up as the finalists at this year's tournament.

Muscarello hit .500 (4-8) with a double and a run scored for the tournament, leading the Tigers in hitting. He wound up with a .319 batting average for the season, and his three-hit game against Stevens Point was his fifth such game of the year.

Linfield placed four players on the All-Tournament Team, while Stevens Point featured three players on the squad. California Lutheran University had two, while LeTourneau joined Trinity in earning just one spot.

Trinity finished its season with a 33-10 overall record under Head Coach Tim Scannell, who has led the team to eight SCAC Championships and nine appearances in the NCAA Playoffs during his 16 years with the program.
