Trinity's Bogese Signed by the Philadelphia Phillies

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Former Trinity Tigers baseball pitcher Kyle Bogese has been signed to a contract by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bogese, a 6-foot, 190-pound right-hander from Chester, Virginia, was signed by the Phillies after a Major League Baseball Draft workout in Clearwater, Florida. He fired in pitches of 97 miles per hour from the mound.

During his senior season of 2014, Bogese recorded a 5-1 record, and a 3.64 ERA.  He made 12 appearances and hurled 47.0 innings for the Tigers. Bogese was second on Trinity's pitching staff in strikeouts with 51 K's. In 2013, Bogese went 3-0 over 36.2 innings, with a 1.96 ERA and 47 strikeouts.

The Tigers finished the 2014 season with a 33-10 record under Head Coach Tim Scannell, who has led the team to eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Trinity also advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the ninth time.
