MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Birmingham-Southern College junior catcher/first baseman Bruce Maxwell was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his stellar play the week of March 5-11, the website announced.
Maxwell, who earlier in the week was named the Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Week,
led the Panthers to four road wins during the week.
The Toney, Ala. native hit .600 (6-of-10) for the week with a total
of seven runs, three RBI, 13 total bases, and eight walks. Maxwell
posted a 1.300 slugging percentage and .778 on-base percentage.
Against Millsaps he was 3-of-4 (including two doubles and a home run) with three RBI. In the series against Sewanee, Maxwell was 3-of-6 (including two doubles).
He is the first SCAC baseball student-athlete named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week during the 2012 season.
