
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - By the largest margin
in the 52-year history of the award, Trinity University earned its
third consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Presidents' Trophy following the completion of the 2013-14
conference championships season this past weekend. It is the
program's 14th all-sports title - which also represents a
conference record.
The Texas Tigers punctuated their historic campaign with spring
sports victories in women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's
track & field and baseball to finish with 555 total points, 195
points ahead of second-place Southwestern University, which
finished with 360 points.
Trinity won 13 of the 19 championships that the SCAC sponsors -
the second-most championships won by a program in a single academic
year in conference history. The Tigers earned 15 conference titles
in 2012-13.
