LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has rounded out its office staff with the hiring of Jenn Talken as the league’s Director of New Media.
Talken, who received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Xavier University in May, worked for three years within the Athletic Department as a member of The BarrackX - a group that serves as the Xavier Athletics social media team. While a member of The BarrackX, Talken was responsible for creating infographics, photo galleries and providing in-game statistics for Xavier Athletics. She was also tasked with coordinating with the athletic communications department to create interesting and engaging content for Xavier's various social media channels.
In addition to her work at Xavier, Talken served as a marketing and digital intern at the 2018 Western & Southern Open, a major ATP and WTA tour stop, where she managed updates and content creation for the official tournament website. She also served as a digital intern for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon where she headed the digital team and oversaw a team of four other interns.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jenn to the SCAC team," said Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "She brings an impressive skill set to the position and, coupled with her three years of practical experience at Xavier, we are confident we have found the right person to lead the league's social media and content creation efforts."
Talken officially began her position with the SCAC office on September 9.
