Trinity Leads Three SCAC Schools Ranked In Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Fall Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Currently in 20th place, Trinity University leads three SCAC institutions ranked in the prestigious 2015-2016 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings. Complete NACDA Release

Trinity has amassed 183 points in the standings on the strength of its four NCAA appearances this fall. The Tigers placed fifth in men's soccer, 17th in women's soccer and 33rd in both men's and women's cross country.

Colorado College has 56 points and is in 92nd place among the 186 schools ranked. The Tigers placed 33rd in both women's cross country and women's volleyball.

Southwestern University is tied for 132nd with 25 points from its 33rd place finish in women's volleyball.

Washington-St. Louis leads all of Division III at the completion of the fall championships season with 337.50 points, and has a 22.5-point lead over second-place Calvin College (315) and Williams College (315). Massachusetts Institute of Technology (268) and Amherst College (267.50) round out the top five.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women’s and nine men's.

To date, all seven fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women’s cross country – Williams; men’s cross country – Wisconsin-Eau Claire; field hockey – Middlebury; women's volleyball – California Lutheran; women’s soccer – Williams; men’s soccer – Amherst; football – Mount Union.
