LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Today the SCAC office
announced a promotional tour of the conference in which conference
office personnel will visit all eight member campuses over eight
consecutive days.
The tour, which will be promoted via the twitter hashtag
#SCAC8in8, will begin Saturday, October 12 on
the campus of Texas Lutheran University and conclude on Saturday,
October 19 on the campus of Southwestern University.
"Although the SCAC has been around since 1962, the league almost
feels new with the recent membership changes, so we wanted to reach
out to the membership to promote the SCAC name on our member
campuses and to celebrate our student-athletes," said conference
commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "We hope this will create some buzz
on each campus and that students will come out to the events and
have some fun with it."
SCAC assistant commissioner James Hill, along with sports
information assistant Krista Billingsley, will attend various
athletics competitions for eight consecutive days on the eight
member campuses. The event will be promoted via twitter (@SCAC_Sports)
as well as a daily blog which will be posted on the conference
website (www.scacsports.com). The SCAC will
also enlist the assistance of a student-athlete representative from
each campus to shoot video and take pictures, which will be posted
on the conference's Instagram and YouTube accounts.
