Sophomore guard
Jade Odom scored 19 points to lead six Tigers in double figures as the Colorado College women's basketball team rolled to a 94-66 victory over Centenary College Friday night at Reid Arena.
Â
Odom, who went 7-for-19 from the floor, including all three of her shots from behind the arc, reached double figures for the fourth game in a row and the ninth time this season.
Â
Freshman
Izzy Strigel added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting for CC, which improved to 5-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and 8-6 overall.
Â
Centenary grabbed an early 8-0 lead as Colorado College misfired on its first five shots and committed a pair of turnovers before senior guard
Casey Torbet scored 3:06 into the contest.
Â
A jumper by Savanah Doty put the Ladies ahead 15-7, but CC rattled off the next 11 points. Consecutive three-pointers by
McKenzee Gertz and Odom evened the game at 15-all, then an old fashioned three-point play by
Jordan Meltzer put the Tigers ahead for good and they led by a 26-17 at the end of the first quarter.
Â
The Tigers kept the momentum going in the second quarter, outscoring Centenary, 21-8. The Ladies' Jasmine Morris was ejected from the game with 4:49 remaining in the frame due to a Flagrant 2 foul call. Morris fouled Meltzer on a layup attempt, and then was called for stepping on her underneath the basket. Torbet made the two free throws for the technical foul and Meltzer made both of hers for a 38-24 advantage.
Â
The Tigers blew the game open in the third quarter with a 32-16 advantage and head coach
Katherine Menendez sat her starters for the final 15 minutes of the contest.
Â
With the victory, the Tigers have won five of its first six league games for the first time in 12 seasons as a member of the SCAC.
Â
Colorado College's current four-game conference winning streak matches the program's longest, which was first set during the 2011-12 campaign.
Â
Torbet added 12 points, five assists and four steals for the Tigers, while Gertz and Meltzer each finished with 10.
Â
Julie Moore matched her career high with eight rebounds and her season high with six points.
 Â
CC and Centenary will meet for the second time on Friday, Feb. 8, in Shreveport, La.

Colorado College plays host to Austin College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
