Once again, Southwestern men's and women's tennis teams took on Mary Hardin-Baylor, this time in Belton. The women ended the day with only one match won, losing 8-1, while the men produced better results but also lost with a final score 6-3.
Doubles produced a few close matches with Gabby Hunt/ Virginia Stofer (#2) narrowly losing 6-8 to Warren/Juanez and Marieke Visser/Sarah Johnson (#3) fighting hard to pick up some games, but ultimately falling 5-8 to Shiffler/Ostorff. Aimee Blake/ Elizabeth Ellis (#1) dropped the number one doubles to Fausett/ Bilbo 3-8.
The women fought hard in singles, but first year Gabby Hunt (#2) produced the Lady Bucs only win defeating Shiffler 6-4, 6-2. Blake (#1) was defeated by 1-6, 0-6 by Fausett. Stofer (#3) and Ellis (#6) both lost their singles 2-6, 3-6 to Bilbo and Yeaw. With a close first set, Visser (#4) fell 3-6, 0-6 to Warren and with a closer second set, Krampitz (#5) fell 1-6, 3-6 to Juaneza.
The men came out of doubles leading the match 2-1 with wins from the number one and number three teams. Egan Cornachione/ Sam McCready (#1) took down Ogo/ Martin 8-3 and Jonathan Sandoval/ Alec Bergerson (#3) took care of Stamps/Turner 8-4. Andy Clarage/Alvaro Rojas (#2) dropped the number two doubles to Summers/Davies 2-8.
