The Colorado College men's cross country team finished in third place at the New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam Saturday in Las Vegas, N.M.

Max Blackburn led the Tigers for the first time in his career with an eighth-place finish in the 8K race with a time of 26 minutes, 19 seconds. Fellow sophomore

South Plains College won the meet with 17 points, followed by Eastern New Mexico (63), CC (73) and New Mexico Highlands (81).

"We had some encouraging results today," head coach
Ted Castaneda said. "We were glad to get the meet in despite a flash flood warning and looking forward to October."

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Fort Hays State Open in Hays, Kan.
