Colorado College Displays Wealth of Talent In Win Over Centenary

With its top lines getting a well-deserved day off, the reserves took advantage of their additional playing time and powered the Colorado College men's lacrosse team to a 29-6 victory Centenary College on Sunday afternoon at Washburn Field.

First-year attackman Philip Gisler struck for a season-high six goals and matched his best of nine points set two days ago against the Gents.

Junior attackman Brant Billingsley set career highs with four goals, six assists and 10 points, while senior attackman Boe Gold set personal-bests with four goals and four assists.

Gisler, Gold and Billingsley factored in nine of CC's first 10 goals. Gisler scored three times during the first eight minutes, and Gold scored once and set up another to help the Tigers take 5-0 lead. Billingsley set up a pair of scores and then gave Colorado College a 10-0 lead almost five minutes into the second quarter.

Jordan Cook put Centenary on the board with the first of his two goals with 8:52 remaining in the first half, but the Tigers scored four of the next five goals to open a 14-2 lead after 30 minutes.

After CC scored the first four goals of the second half, Mark Temple and John Mark Waniewski scored 2:36 apart for the Gents to trim their deficit to 18-4.
