Box Score Jack Kreitler struck for a career-high five goals as Colorado College overcame a 3-0 first-half deficit to defeat Adams State University, 10-6, on Wednesday night at Washburn Field.
 
The Tigers improved to 7-4 with their fourth consecutive victory and remained perfect at home with a 5-0 mark.
 
It took CC 27:11 to score twice during the first half, but only 5:13 to score four times during the opening minutes the third quarter.
 
Tyler Allen and Kreitler scored 12 seconds apart to give Colorado College its first lead 36 seconds into the second half. Allen took a pass from Austin Davie to score from a sharp angle on the right side, and Kreitler found the cage from low on the left side.
 
Dylan Davie's laser from the top left made the score 5-3 just 2:39 into the third frame, and then Austin Davie picked up a loose ball along the left sideline and dished to Jack McCormick, who beat goaltender ASU goaltender Anthony Rossi with a shot from beside the left post.
 
Kreitler struck two more times later in the third quarter to extend the Tigers' lead to five with 15 minutes to play.
 
While offense struck for six goals, the CC defense denied the Grizzlies on three man-up situations during the quarter, including 30 seconds while playing down two men.
 
Murphy made four of his 11 saves during the third stanza, including a pair while playing shorthanded, while stopping double-digit shots for the fifth time this season.
 
After Will Harris went coast-to-coast for Colorado College's ninth consecutive tally, Chase Pollick snapped the Tigers' nine-goal run with a man-up tally. ASU's Daniel Mayes made the score 9-5 with his second goal of the contest, but Kreitler got that one back 25 seconds later.
 
Tallies by Mayes and Robert Romero gave the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes, and Romero struck for a second time 3:24 into the second quarter.
 
McCormick put the Tigers on the board 4:47 into the second period, and Kreitler cut CC's deficit in half with a man-up marker with 2:49 remaining in the first half.
 
Adams State recorded a 37-27 advantage in total shots, while CC held a 20-17 edge in ground balls.
 
Rossi finished with five saves for the Grizzlies, who dropped to 3-5.
 
Colorado College is idle until Saturday, April 12, when it plays host to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Centenary College at noon.
