Ogilvie propels CC over Scheiner

Box Score On a chilly day for soccer, Brandon Ogilvie remained red hot.

Ogilvie recorded his first career hat trick to propel Colorado College to a 4-1 victory over Schreiner University on Friday afternoon at Stewart Field.

The senior forward scored twice in the first half, including what proved to be his fourth game- winning tally of the season off the rebound of a shot by senior midfielder Andrew Salazar.

Sophomore midfielder Ryan Huettel's header off a pass from senior forward Sean Parham gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead in the 56th minute, but the Mountaineers answered 25 seconds later with a goal by junior defender Zach Howard.

Ogilvie, who has nine goals in the last eight games, added his third marker with 16:33 left to play off a feed from Parham.

CC, which tied its season high of four goals, amassed a 49-8 advantage in total shots and a 13-2 margin in corner kicks.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tom Crosby finished with six saves en route to his second victory in three starts.

The Tigers improved to 8-5-2 overall and 7-3-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Blake Lawson stopped 14 shots for the Mountaineers, who dropped to 3-9-3 overall and 3-5-2 in league play.

Colorado College plays host to Texas Lutheran University at noon Sunday in its final home conference game.
