Tigers Finish 22nd at NCAA Championship

The Colorado College women's cross country team concluded its 2023 season with a 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship Meet on Saturday in Newville, Pa.

Senior Kendall Accetta wrapped up her stellar career by placing 44th individually with a personal-best 6K time of 21:59.0. Accetta, the 2023 SCAC Champion, followed up her fourth-place finish at last week's West Region meet with a strong run on Saturday.

The Tigers, participating as a team for the third consecutive year, finished with 504 points. Carleton won the team title with 151 points, followed by NYU with 154 and the University of Chicago with 156.

Sophomore Ella Fullerton finished in 140th place, followed by junior Elliot Singer in 148th. Sophomores Alison Mueller-Hicker (176th) and Sky Theodosopoulos (196th) rounded out the scoring for the Tigers, while freshman Charlie Flint finished 285th in her first NCAA national meet.

"Honestly I think we are a better team than what we had in the results today," head coach Alex Nichols said. "There were a couple of drop-offs in our top five that is just a part of the day. So I think we can learn from this and take it forward in the future. It's still really great to be here at nationals and it doesn't take away from a really really good season we've had."
