CONWAY, Ark. - The CNU men's lacrosse team made it two-for-two on its trip to Arkansas with a 12-5 victory over Hendrix Saturday night.

The Captains defeated Fontbonne, 8-6, Thursday night.

CNU trailed, 3-2, late in the first quarter, but scored three goals in the final 5:40 to take a 5-3 lead. The Captains would never trail again. Ray Fitzgerald had two of the scores and Britt Hoover one.

With CNU leading 5-4, Brent Greer tallied with 2:19 to go in the half and Hoover added another at the 1:42 mark to give the Captains a 7-4 lead at the break.

Hoover then scored the only goal of the third quarter and another a minute and a half into the fourth quarter as CNU pulled away.

Hoover finished with four goals and Fitzgerald two.

The win gives CNU a 7-6 record. The Captains host Hampden-Sydney Wednesday at 3:00.
