Lesnansky Cracks Top 10 in Loss at Regis

Box Score Chris Lesnansky poured in a season-high 24 points to climb into 10th place on the program's career scoring list, but his efforts were not enough to get Colorado College a victory at Regis University.

Brett Hartshorne recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks to lead the Division II Rangers to an 80-69 victory on Tuesday night at the Regis Fieldhouse.

Lesnansky finished the game with 1,205 points and moved past Brady Ohlsen's (2007-11) total of 1,185.

The senior forward scored 14 in the first half when the Tigers led 31-30 with 4:34 to play after junior guard Luke Winfield knocked down a jumper with 4:34 to play.

However, after Winfield sank a pair of free throws with to tie the score at 33-33 with 2:56 to go, Regis went on an 8-1 run to build a seven –point lead after 20 minutes.

That momentum carried over to the opening minutes of the second half when the Rangers outscored CC, 12-5, to take their largest lead at 53-49.

The Tigers cut their deficit to 68-62 when freshman guard Eric Houska scored two of his season-best 10 points with 4:42 remaining, but that proved to be as close as Colorado College would get.

Billy Hansen recorded 17 points and five boards for Regis, which improved to 2-2. Dylan King added 14 points, while Kevin Marshall scored 10 and dished out 10 assists.

Winfield finished with 12 points for CC, which slipped to 2-3.

The Tigers return to Division III competition this weekend when they play host to the 2014 Colorado College Thanksgiving Invitational. CC begins the tournament against the University of Northwestern on Friday at 7 p.m.
