First Half Goal Lifts Hendrix Past Texas Lutheran

CONWAY, AR -- Texas Lutheran Women's soccer (3-6) dropped a 1-0 final score at Hendrix (6-2-1) Monday morning in Conway, Arkansas.

The Bulldogs, who conceded a first-half goal in the 37th minute, made an aggressive push for an equalizer with 14 second half shot attempts and seven shots on-goal throughout the duration of the match. The Bulldogs held a 19-15 advantage in shots and 7-4 advantage in shots on goal but could never put the one equalizer in the back of the net. Delaney Lyle (Pflugerville/Hendrickson) & Monique Sierra (San Antonio/Taft) led the Bulldogs with two shots on-goal each.

Despite the match's result, it was an impressive effort from the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs held the shot advantage and were even with the Warriors in corner kicks (3-3). Charleigh Phipps (Dripping Springs/Dripping Springs) had four saves in the match - only allowing the lone goal.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday, Oct. 8, as they return home to face the Trinity University Tigers at 5:00 PM at Gustafson Field. All live stats and video links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
