GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University Pirates women's basketball team suffered an 81-54 loss to the No. 22-ranked Trinity University Tigers.

Southwestern shot just 28.6 percent from the field, including 1-for-9 from the 3-point line while hitting 14-for-18 (77.8 percent) from the free-throw line.

With the loss, the Pirates drop to 3-8 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. Southwestern will return to action on Friday, Jan. 3 for a road game against Texas Lutheran University at 7:30 p.m.
