The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (3-0, 1-0 Midwest Lacrosse Conference) defeated Southwestern University (0-4), 19-3, on Friday night, March 5 at Christian Brothers High School in St. Louis, Mo.

Carthage got off to a slow start and was unable to score on a barrage of shots early in the first period. The Red Men, despite dominating possession time and shots, found themselves down, 1-0, until Kyle Honn got things started with an unassisted goal at 5:17. Carthage rallied quickly for three more goals to close out the first quarter and lead at the half, 10-2. The Red Men scored four quick goals to begin the third quarter and put things out of reach.

Dan Hurst (So., Columbia, Mo./Hickman) collected his third win of the season with five saves. Nick Condon (Fr., Ballwin, Mo./Christian Brothers College H.S.) returned to his home field and scored his first collegiate hat trick with three goals, including the Red Men's game-winning score in the first period. Keegan Bowman (So., New Westminster, British Columbia) had six goals and two assists, while Peter Slefinger (Fr., Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) had two goals and three assists.
