Tigers Edge TLU On Ogilvie’s Golden Goal

Box Score Brandon Ogilvie scored 3:52 into overtime to give No. 22 Colorado College a 2-1 victory at Texas Lutheran University on Sunday afternoon at a hot and humid Gustafson Field.

Ogilvie's header off a long cross from sophomore defender Christian Wulff eluded TLU goalkeeper Jonathan Michael and extended the Tigers' winning streak to seven games.

CC improved to 7-1-0 overall and owns a share of first place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-0-0 mark.

Wulff also set up an Ogilvie tally in the 30th minute to put the Tigers up 1-0. That lead lasted all of 31 seconds because Alejandro Martinez dribbled the length of the field and found the net from 20 yards out.

Ogilvie, who leads the SCAC with eight goals and 17 points, has seven goals in his last three games. It also marked his third multiple-goal game of the season and the sixth of his career.

CC's All-America candidate climbed into a tie with Tyler Free (1997-2000) for 17th place on the program's all-time list with 28 goals.

Wulff now ranks second in the conference with a career-high five assists.

Colorado College outshot the Bulldogs 15-4 in the second half and finished with a 23-8 advantage.

Junior Tom Crosby, who made a season-high three saves for the Tigers, improved to 3-1-0 and lowered his season goals-against average to 1.38.

Michael stopped nine shots for TLU, which slipped to 3-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play.

The Bulldogs played the final 5:56 one a man down after Isaac Lopez was given a red card for arguing a yellow card given to Michael.

Colorado College plays host to Austin College and the University of Dallas next Friday and Sunday, respectively.
