GEORGETOWN, Texas – Early goals were too much for the Pirates to recover from as UT Tyler defeated Southwestern 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UT Tyler controlled the majority of the first and took a 3-0 lead.
- SU took advantage of a free kick deep in Patriot territory with 14 minutes to play in the half. Hayley Miesse addressed the ball from 25 yards out and snuck it inside the near post and into the back of the net to bring the count to 4-1 at the half.
- Tyler added one more goal early in the second half to arrive at the 5-1 final.
