TLU Volleyball wins 5-set thriller at Rhodes College

MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball moved to 3-1 on the season after winning a 5-set thriller against Rhodes College, 28-26, 24-26, 25-15, 19-25, 15-7, Friday afternoon in the Rhodes College Classic.

The Bulldogs will wrap up their tournament games tomorrow against Rust College and Westminster College (MO) at 11 AM and 1 PM respectively on Rhodes College's campus.

The Bulldogs held an advantage at the service line over the course of the match finishing with nine service aces to the Lynx to the seven. Junior Adrienne Galaviz (San Antonio/Harlandale) led the Bulldogs with six service aces and 26 assists to go alongside 11 digs.

Junior Maddy Schultz (Richmond/Needville) led the Bulldogs in kills yet again finishing the match with 17 kills and a .310 hitting percentage. Sophomore Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard (Spring Branch/ Smithson Valley) and senior Kacie Hall (Buda/Hays) joined Schultz in double figures finishing the match with 11 and 10 kills respectively.

Senior Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) led the Bulldogs in digs with 31 to go with her 4 service aces.

The Bulldogs 3-1 start is reminiscent of the 3-1 start from the 2019-20 season that led to a 20-win season - a feat they are well on their way to repeating.
