Women's Basketball Falls at Dallas, 68-45, on Saturday

Irving, Texas – The Centenary women's basketball team fell to the University of Dallas Crusaders, 68-45, on Saturday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Maher Center.

The Ladies (0-6) also faced Dallas on Friday, coming up short by a score of 70-63. The Crusaders improved to 2-4 with Saturday's win. Freshman guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) once again scored in double figures as she led the way with 14 points on 7 of 16 shooting in 35 minutes. Tremie matched her career high of 18 on Friday, a mark she has reached three times this season. She added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals on Saturday and is now averaging 14.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. She entered this weekend's action fifth in 3-point field goals made in the SCAC and is ranked in the top 15 in the conference in scoring.

Junior guard Kristen Stuart (Kilgore, Texas) joined Tremie in double figures, scoring 11 and grabbed six rebounds and had three assists and a steal in 25 minutes. She reached double figures for the fifth time this season. She ranks in the top 15 in the SCAC in scoring and ranks in the top 10 in free-throw percentage. She made 12 of her 17 free-throw attempts in the two games this weekend.

Sophomore forward Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) scored seven points and had 11 rebounds, one day after setting a new career high with 12. She also had three assists and a pair of blocks on Saturday. Sophomore forward Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) had a solid game off the bench as she scored four points with six rebounds in just 11 minutes of action.

Dallas had four players in double figures, led by 18 from Camille Fowler. Amber Turner scored 13, Alyssa Sullivan had 12, and Anika Herron had 12 off the bench. Imani Hardin scored eight and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. The Crusaders shot 38.5 % from the floor for the game while the Ladies shot 26.6 %. Dallas held the slight edge in rebounding, 47-45. Centenary forced 17 Dallas turnovers and committed 20 of its own.

The Ladies, for the second straight day, held the lead after the first quarter as they were up by six at 16-10 after the opening 10 minutes on Saturday. The Crusaders got going on offense in the second quarter, though, outscoring the Maroon and White, 29-11, to lead 39-27 at the break. Dallas scored 15 to the Ladies' 7 in a low-scoring third-quarter and then held a 14-11 edge in the final period to finish off the 23-point win.

Centenary returns home to face Colorado College next weekend in SCAC play. The games are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 6 at Noon. Live video and live stats are available at all home games.
