Box Score
Ohio Wesleyan 75, Trinity 64

Senior post Reuel Rogers (Columbus/Bexley) hit a pair of 3-pointers during an early second-half run that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and senior guard Taylor Rieger (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) scored 20 points during the second half alone to keep the Bishops in front as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Trinity in the annual Hoopsville National Invitational Tournament, hosted by Stevenson University on Saturday in Owings Mills, Md.

The teams were tied, 24-24, at halftime before senior wing Dre White (Lima/Bath) opened the second-half scoring with a lay-in and Rogers followed with consecutive 3-pointers.  Freshman guard Seth Clark (Lewis Center/Olentangy) followed with a trifecta to cap an 11-3 run that gave the Bishops a 35-27 lead.

The Tigers clawed back behind the scoring of Robert Kitzinger, who connected on a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws to bring Trinity within 35-34 at the 15:09 mark, but Ohio Wesleyan answered with a pair of Rieger 3-pointers and another long-range bomb from sophomore post Matt Jeske (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) to move the lead back into double figures at 44-34 in a span of less than 2 minutes.

Another Rieger 3-pointer gave the Bishops a 47-36 edge, but Trinity again made it a one-possession game, with Joe Shotland sinking a 3-pointer and Jonathan Wilt contributing a jumper and a 3-point play to help the Tigers close to within 47-44 at the midway point of the half.

Leading, 52-48, with exactly 8 minutes remaining, the Bishops took off on a 10-0 run that included a Rieger jumper, a 3-pointer by sophomore post Claude Gray (Avon), a Rieger 3-pointer, and a Jeske bucket, with Jeske's hoop making it a 62-48 game with 4:49 to play.

Matt Hooper's 3-pointer brought the Tigers within 69-62 with :50 left, but that was as close as Trinity would come.

Rieger led the Bishops with 25 points, matching the career best he set against Allegheny last season.  Gray finished with 17 points and Rogers finished with 10 points and a game-high 8 rebounds.

Wilt led Trinity with 14 points.
