ABILENE, Texas – The three senior members of the McMurry University women's swim team – Katie Gorka, Zandria Rodriguez and Robyn Remschel – put on quite a show in their final home meet, leading their team to a 100-88 win over Austin College at the Phillips Family Center.  The trio won every race in which they were entered, including relays, and the War Hawks claimed the top time in 10 events, overall.
 
Gorka – as has been her role – was the team's "workhorse," winning the double grueling events of the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle races. Gorka knocked nearly eight seconds off of her best time, posting a 12:08.53 minutes.  She won the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:58.85. 
 
Rodriguez had what was by far the biggest crowd pleaser with a come-from-behind win in the 100-yard butterfly.  Rodriguez edged out the Kangaroos' Sophie Garraga in the final 25 yards by 46/100ths of a second. Rodriguez also took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.23). 
 
Rodriguez also swam a leg on the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.
 
Remschel, like Rodriguez, had a spot on both relays.  Additionally, Remschel won the 100 backstroke in a clocking of 1:00.60, touching with a 14-second advantage over her closest competitor. She also grabbed top honors in the 50 freestyle (26.17).
 
McM newcomer Mariah Rhoades had a break-out performance, as well. Rhoades won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 59.02 seconds. Rhoades was second to Remschel in the 50 freestyle, touching at 27.55 seconds. She also held a spot on both relays, as well.
 
Jessica Gryder completed the quartet for both relay teams.  Gryder was third in the 500 freestyle (6:22.87 minutes).
