Texarkana, Texas- The Centenary volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Eagles on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest at the Patterson Student Center.

The Ladies are now 6-6 overall while the Eagles improved to 4-6. The teams split the season series following Centenary's 3-1 win back on Sept. 6 in its home opener at the Gold Dome. The Ladies, who earned a doubleheader split with Williams Baptist University on the road Saturday, have won six of their last nine matches since beginning the season 0-3.

Texas A&M-Texarkana won a close first set on Tuesday, 25-22, and then the Ladies returned the favor by the same score in set two. The Eagles took set three, 25-21, and closed out the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set. The Ladies finished with 69 digs, 42 kills, 38 assists, and seven service aces. The Eagles tallied 81 digs, 45 kills, 39 assists, and 12 aces.

Centenary will begin Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend as the Maroon and White host 10 conference matches as part of its annual SCAC crossover event over two days on campus. The Ladies' first match is set for 1:15 p.m. on Saturday versus Colorado College.
