Three-point shooting dooms CC against DePauw

Tony James buried a 15-foot jump shot as time expired to give DePauw University a 46-44 victory over Colorado College on Saturday night at CC's Reid Gymnasium.

James went the length of the court after Brady Ohlsen tied the game with five seconds remaining off a feed from Jarrell Sweet.

Ohlsen finished with a game-high 19 points despite playing the final 11:36 with four fouls.

DePauw took its biggest lead of the game at 34-27 when Tommy Weakley scored with 12:25 remaining, but CC battled back to take a 41-38 lead with 6:19 to go after Nick Rose converted on four consecutive free throws. Rose finished with 12 points.

Colorado College wasted an opportunity to extend its advantage by missing seven consecutive shots, including three layups, and DePauw capitalized by scoring six straight points to take a 44-41 lead.

Sean Haseley paced DePauw with 11 points, while David Gray had a game-high 15 rebounds.

The visitors finished with a 38-29 advantage on the glass.

CC shot a season-low .100 from behind the three-point line, making just two of 20 attempts.

DePauw improved to 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Colorado College slipped to 11-8 overall and 8-5 in league play.

CC travels to Texas next weekend for a conference game at Austin College on Saturday and its final non-conference game of the season on Sunday at the University of Dallas.
